Seniors & Ladies

If you are a Senior Golfer or a Lady Golfer you may not need all 14 clubs in your bag.

If you are hitting most of your clubs the same distance and only use about half of them Tom Wishon designed a set of clubs just for you. The 730CL set is all you need. If your tee shots no longer go even 200 yards and all your irons go about the same distance. You need clubs that were designed for you. The 730CL set heads are designed to make the most of your ability and shafts that fit Senior golfers, Lady golfers and Junior Golfers. The lofts are designed for slow swing speeds to get as much distance gap between clubs as possible for your swing. You can start enjoying golf again with a set of clubs designed just for you.

The 730CL slow swing speed Driver

The 730CL Driver is designed with a thinner face expressly for golfers with a swing speed of 80mph or lower to increase ball velocity. Ball velocity, more commonly referred to as ball speed is what gives you more distance. Golfers with a swing speed approaching 90mph or higher are NOT to use this driver.
The 730CL driver is designed with a High Launch loft of 16° to match correctly with swing speeds lower than 80mph to generate the proper launch angle for maximizing distance. We know from testing that with lower swing speeds below 90mph we do not generate enough spin on the ball to give it aerodynamic lift from the dimples so lower swing speeds need more loft to get the ball in the air for maximum carry

The 730CL slow swing speed Fairways

The 730CL Long and High Fairway woods are 20° and 26° loft respectively, and are perfect lofts for a golfer with a sub-80mph swing speed to use to get the ball up easily off the fairway and generate proper distance in between the two woods.

730CL Hybrid Irons

730CL Hybrid irons are designed with 6° loft increments because golfers with a sub-80mph wood swing speed do not achieve a useable distance difference between clubs made with less of a loft difference. Sub-80mph golfers who sweep the ball off the ground or who have difficulty hitting the ball high enough with conventional irons should opt for the all hybrid irons in the 730CL set

Why do seniors, ladies and Juniors need clubs designed especially for them? Why are the same clubs I see in stores not OK for them?

Seniors, Ladies and Juniors are not as strong athletically as younger and middle aged adults are. Think of weight lifting, or running as other examples of how different they are. When we are young we can lift much more weight than when we can when we get old. We can run much faster than when we get old. Grown men on average can lift a lot more weight than most average ladies and can run faster too. The same can be said for Juniors. Common sense tells us that they need different gear for many things.

Golf clubs are no different. Many do not realize that part of why a golf ball goes as high as it does is because of aerodynamic lift caused by the dimple pattern on a golf ball moving through the air. As shown below these aerodynamic forces cause lift and the ball goes higher.

Without these lift forces the ball does not stay in the air as long and does not carry as far so you do not get as much distance as someone who creates these lift forces. It takes a swing speed of about 100 mph to create enough spin on a driver to exert the aerodynamic lift forces that keep the ball airborne longer. Depending on swing speed a golfer will need sufficient loft on the driver to launch a tee shot at 16° – 20° approximately to get maximum carry for their swing speed.
