TWGT-12 Myths that can wreck your Golf Game

From 2002 until 2015 I operated a full service golf shop with focus on custom fitting and custom building golf clubs for my customers.

My top performing brands were Wishon Golf and Alpha Golf in spite of the fact that I had a half dozen of the OEM professional brands in stock at the same time.

My process was to use a connector system to assemble various heads and shafts for testing with a launch monitor. I had my boutique brands and OEM brands all in my fitting system. I had dozens of iron heads and dozens of driver heads for testing and several hundred of the top shaft brands in various flexes.

Testing consisted of having each golfer hit the clubs they owned and analyzing the data from their clubs. After analyzing the data I would assemble a test club and test shaft based on the data that fit their results.

Then we would test the new club and compare to old data and compare to what their maximum potential performance should be based on their age, strength, size, swing speed and other characteristics of their swing.

Adjustments are made to heads and shafts based on results of testing new combinations and weight added to the heads or different shaft weights, of flex based on their performance.

Each golfer was tested for head designs, shaft flex and weight for total performance until we achieved their highest level or performance. Adjustments were made to improve swing speed, ball speed, swing path and face angle to improve consistency, distance, accuracy and over all shot dispersion.
